Indianola Lodge Supports Food Pantry

In Indianola Elks Lodge gave $3,500 of their 2021-2022 ENF Beacon and Gratitude Grants to GEF Food Panty. This local food pantry fights hunger and change lives by providing nutritious supplemental food for those struggling to feed themselves and their families in Warren County. The GEF Food Pantry’s clients include fixed income elderly, disabled people, single parent families and people who have recently lost their jobs. They strive to allow their clients to maintain their dignity with welcoming smiles and the opportunity to choose the food they want rather than picking up prepackaged items they may not use.

GEF Food Pantry staff wanted share how they used the donation from the ENF grant program; and invited ER Dave Lamphear and Loyal Knight Dan Hickman to see the much-needed coolers and storage shelving they purchased.

The ENF is the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The ENF helps Elks build stronger communities through programs that support youth, honor veterans, and meet the needs of communities where Elks live and work. Founded in 1928 and incorporated in 2009, the ENF is a separate entity from the Grand Lodge, which administers the Order.
