Boone Lodge #2884 Presents Gratitude Grant
Boone Elks Lodge No. 2884 recently presented the Boone Area Humane Society with a check for $2,000 to be earmarked for Veterans in need of support with their animals.
Vanessa Hennan, Director for BAHS said, “We really, really appreciate you guys thinking of us.”
Heenan went on to explain that most of their funds come completely from grants so a donation like the one from the Boone Elks Lodge is huge.
Bonnie Barnett, Lodge Secretary and Grant Coordinator explained that grants like this come from the national Elks Association and are awarded based on need in the community and member contributions.
“This specific grant, the Gratitude grant, is available to lodges that qualify and we were fortunate enough to be awarded the grant to, in turn, help our community,” said Barnett.
