Scholarships

The mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. We fulfill this pledge by investing in communities where Elks live and work.
Since 1931, the Elks National Foundation has helped students recognize their academic dreams. Each year, we award more than $4.6 million in college scholarships to at least 800 outstanding, service-minded high school seniors. 


2024 Iowa Elks Vocational Grant Applications

Vocational Grants

The Iowa State Elks Association is pleased to offer twenty (20) $1,500.00 Vocational Grants to individuals pursuing a vocational (2-year or less) training/educational program. These grants are open to current high school seniors or any non-traditional student pursuing such a program at an accredited school. These grants are not intended for students pursuing a 4-year course of study that will lead to a bachelor’s degree.

Deadline: March of each year.

Elks National Foundation Scholarship Program

The Elks National Foundation Board of Trustees approved appropriations and distributions for the 2018-19 fiscal year totaling  $4.79 million for the Elks Scholarship program. Some of the guidelines to these scholarships are at httpss://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/guidelines.cfm

Most Valuable Student Scholarships

The ENF Most Valuable Student Scholarships are available to full-time students pursuing a four-year degree in a U.S. college or university.There are 500 four-year scholarships awarded ranging from $1,000 to $12,500 per year.

Legacy Awards

2022 Legacy Awards The 2022 Legacy Awards contest is open for application. Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for high school seniors who are the children and/or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks. Applications are due on or before February 7, 2022. Learn more about the Legacy contest at enf.elks.org/Leg.

Emergency Educational Grants

The ENF Emergency Educational Grants provide undergraduate college financial assistance to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks in the form of renewable, one-year grants of up to $4,000. 

Deadline: October 31 each year
