Attention State Drug Awareness Chairmen

Please make every attempt to get the following information to the Lodges in your State and especially to the Lodge Drug Awareness Chairmen and all Elks who appreciate the hard work all the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks do to educate our children about the dangers of illegal drug use and the abuse of legalized drugs.
YES, YOU GUESSED IT! THE DAP “OPEN SHOW” IS BACK!
The DAP “OPEN SHOW” is a traditional celebration held at every Grand Lodge Convention on Tuesday the last full day of the convention. An average of 500 Elks on their afternoon off attend this event and love every minute of it.   The Directors have decided that because of the G/L Convention being cancelled we were going to do the 2020 Open Show on Zoom and everyone, up to a 1,000 members can Zoom in and watch this never forgettable show of just what the Elks Drug Awareness Program is all about.   You will feel the passion of the State Chairs and the National Directors and be amazed by the talent of the guests who choose to come in and help all of us do what is right for our kids. If you are a real believer in the Drug Awareness Program you will not miss this opportunity to learn even more about it. I also guarantee you will enjoy every minute of the Open Show.   You will hear from a former DEA agent who was the recipient of the Enrique Camarena Award and was instrumental in bringing the Elks Drug Awareness Program into a meaningful relationship with the DEA. In addition, Sean Fearns who is the Demand Reduction Coordinator of the Drug Enforcement Administration will inform us of the latest drug trends.   You will hear about the latest video being produced by Robert Sabouni, who has produced all our comic books and all our award-winning video’s.   You will see the winning video done by a high school student, who hails from New York.   Ray Lozano who is the Spokesperson of the DAP will present a program and discuss the options the DAP Speaking Tour. Ray always gets everyone fired up even more.   In addition, you will meet for the first time a young lady who may join the Speaking Tour. Her name is Heather DiBlasi from New Jersey and I am confident you will enjoy her presentation.   You will see a new program being developed by Eddie a true friend of the Elks that when the program is completed by Eddie and the manual is ready to go thanks to John and Donna McEntire it will help every classroom in the U.S.   There is more but this should be enough.   The program will last two hours. You are encouraged to reach out to all lodges and send the information on how to join the meeting.   Below is the link to the Open session

One more thing.

The Directors have arranged that a national known figure who is a huge fan of the Elks and The Elks DAP has agreed to Zoom in as well. This person will inspire you to do the right thing and do what we do best.   Educate our kids and parents alike about the dangers of Drug use and abuse.   Please notify State Association officers, and anyone you know in law enforcement and educators about the Open Show and the possibilities.   Take advantage of the opportunity and join the meeting.
